Eat a Handful of Almonds for Slim Waist and Lean Legs

When Hungry, Eating Almonds May Not Only Prevent Weight Gain, But Also Aid in Fat Loss.


The American Heart Association conducted a study involving 48 participants aged 30 to 65, non-smokers, with no chronic illnesses but having LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) levels higher than half of their age group. One group consumed 1.5 ounces (equivalent to 42.5 grams) of almonds per day, while the other group consumed carbohydrate-rich foods like bread and cake with matching calories.


After 12 consecutive weeks, the group consuming almonds daily maintained their high-density lipoprotein (good cholesterol) levels while significantly reducing their low-density lipoprotein cholesterol.


Furthermore, their abdominal fat decreased, and even the fat around their thighs reduced. The study suggests that the abundance of oleic acid, dietary fiber, and phytosterols in almonds might contribute to the reduction of LDL cholesterol, consequently leading to the reduction in abdominal and thigh obesity.
